a conversation was struck with me today about reasonable pricing on art. it quickly made me think about how much monetary worth i should put on my own work. is it experience, quality, design, appeal, or the economy?! all of the above maybe?
i've participated in a couple of art shows and realized, while there were so many who came out, not plenty of pieces were bought. the ball is in the viewers' court. do they think the pieces are priced too much? in the meantime, for the artist like myself, should i make the price of my art lower than what i think it's worth?
what's the scale these days?

Always make sure you pay yourself a fair wage. Its harder to raise prices later than it is to drop prices on a few pieces here and there, if they haven't sold after 6 months or so.
Funny, this just came up in my life recently, too. :)
