more printmaking...

2 color reductive woodcut. the better print of this was on yellow paper, making for 3 colors. i think i may have posted this print before. hope you enjoy it nonetheless with the rest of my prints. :)

"Hope" 2 color reductive. i colored the flower petals separately. btw, this and the print above were all MANUALLY done. meaning i printed them by hand as well: slowly pressing the paper against the painted carved wood with a litho paint can, and transferring the paint onto the paper. the alignment has to be precise as well.

tribute to Hokusai, a great in printmaking. this was a freestyle woodcut. i looked at his piece, "The Great Wave," for reference, but carved it without a photo transfer on the wood (for tracing). this was also done on yellow printmaking sheets and a series of 24.

i called this "My Endless Summer" (i edited 'my endless' out on this one). i love not only the movie but also its classic poster. so, i re-interpreted it by having the guys carry an art palette, a cutter, and a paintbrush. :) the image was all done through tedious stenciling, and a hard to manage letter press >:L grr! this is a small piece, maybe a 10x10". it would be great to do this in woodcut...*sigh* one of these days. this was a series of 4.

one of my all time fave characters, snoopy and linus. i had to make a woodcut with them on there. notice that much, if not all of my woodcuts, are done so that the outlines (the positive) actually print. the process is slightly longer this way even if it's a simpler image like this. *the bubbles are left blank because i carved the letter "Z" (for sleeping) the opposite way it's suppose to print. hence, more freedom for someone like you to fill in the blank. this was a series of 5.

They're all nice... I couldn't catch what is exactly your style, they're various...(of course, this is a complement:)
